Ceramics · Marseille
Stoneware vessels, thrown, glazed and fired by hand in a small studio above the old port.
Works, 2026
Open a piece for its story, size and price.

The studio
I work alone in a room with a wheel, a gas kiln and a window onto the harbour. Everything is made in small batches of eight or ten, so most pieces exist once.
Before clay I trained as an archaeologist, which explains the jars. I like things that look found rather than bought.

01
Throw
Each piece starts on the wheel, from a ball of clay weighed by hand.

02
Trim
A day later, leather hard, the foot is cut and the walls thinned.

03
Dry
A week under cloth on the shelves, slowly, so nothing cracks.

04
Glaze and fire
Dipped, then fired to 1280°C. The kiln has the last word.
